Why Australia.

Strategic location

In the Asia-Pacific region with strong ties to New Zealand, China, the EU, India and South Korea — a well-connected base for cross-border business.

Ease of doing business

A streamlined incorporation process completed in a few days, with business-friendly policies, easy access to credit and efficient cross-border trade.

Free trade agreements

An extensive FTA network — New Zealand, Chile, the United States, Malaysia, Japan, China and more — that lowers barriers to trade.

Economic & regulatory strength

A robust regulatory framework balancing business and labour freedom, supported by a free and open trade market.

Business incentives

Tax incentives, business concessions and direct grant-funding opportunities that foster innovation and competitiveness.

Available company structures.

Sole Trader

The simplest setup — a single person responsible for all decisions and operations, with complete control but full personal liability for business debts.

Partnership (GP / LP / ILP)

Two or more people sharing responsibility. General Partnerships carry equal, unlimited liability; Limited Partnerships add passive limited partners; Incorporated Limited Partnerships offer limited liability with at least one general partner bearing unlimited liability.

Trust

A trustee (individual or company) manages assets and distributes profits to beneficiaries per the trust deed. A trading name other than the trust’s own must be registered with ASIC.

Company

A separate legal entity with limited liability for members. Has a more complex structure, higher setup and running costs, must comply with the Corporations Act 2001 and file an annual tax return with the ATO.

Branch

A registered local branch of an overseas company, requiring a local agent authorised to accept service and a registered Australian address. Annual financial statements are filed with ASIC.

Representative Office

A representation of an overseas company that cannot trade locally — suited to liaison, marketing and research.
